Local golfers to vie for top spot

Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma will begin her Hero-Oxford Women’s Pro Golf Championship campaign on Wednesday at the Oxford Golf and Country Club, Pune.

The tourney is the 3rd leg of the ongoing Hero-Oxford Women’s Pro Golf Championship. Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma, Delhi’s Gauri Monga and Mehar Atwal would be playing their first event as professionals. While after consecutive victories in the past two events, local golfer Vani Kapoor will look for a hat-trick in the same championship.

The Rs 6,00,000 event will culminate on February 27. Delhi professional Amandeep Drall, Bengaluru’s Sharmila Nicollet, English golfer Kiran Matharu, Panchkula’s Amandeep Drall will be the other golfers to watch out for. — TNS
