Upendra Yadav played an unbeaten 86-run knock before Charanjeet Singh claimed 5/48 to help Defence Accounts Sports Control Board (DASCB) beat Minerva Cricket Academy by 18 runs and confirm a place in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 27th All India Sperry Om Nath Sood Memorial Cricket Tournament at Shivaji College Grounds in New Delhi on Wednesday. Batting first, DASCB scored 250 runs in the allotted 50 overs. In reply, Minerva Academy were bowled out for 232 runs in 37.2 overs.
Jass to represent India in Asian taekwondo c’ship
City girl Jass Pandori will represent the country in the 9th Kyorugi and 4th Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships to be held at Atyrau, Kazakhstan. The 17-year-old is a part of the 21-memmber Indian team comprising 11 girls and 10 boys. A Class XII student of The British School, Jass will represent India in the U-49kg category. She has been selected to participate in the Asian championships for the second consecutive time. She had earlier represented the nation at the 2014 World Cadet Taekwondo Games in Azerbaijan. “I want to win a medal for my county in this Asian championship,” said Jass. “Things will not be easy, but I am well prepared.”
