Aizawl FC has been having a dream run in the ongoing Hero I-League season and enjoying the top rank on the table.

Former Mumbai FC coach Khalid Jamil, current in-charge of Aizawl FC, attended the pre-match press conference today, along with Brandon Vanlalremdika who was Aizawl’s savior in their dramatic win over DSK Shivajians.

Surinder Singh, head coach of Minerva Punjab FC, and member Girik Khosla were present.

About the past games, he said they played first four games away from home and first home game was against super giants East Bengal FC, so the team had no time to settle. In the last two games, they were distinctly unlucky, he said.

Girik Khosla said, “The team needs goals and I will contribute in whatever capacity I can.”

Surinder Singh said the team would look forward to win against Aizawl FC, so they could head into the last phase with confidence. He recalled their previous game against Aizawl FC and said it was a loss for the team after the first choice goalkeeper Ravi Kumar was injured.

Khalid Jamil said his squad would remain the same.

He said Minerva was a good team and they would not be complacent while playing against Minerva.

Khalid Jamil lauded his striking duo — Jaryan and Kamo Bayi. There would be a difference in the pitch patterns from AstroTurf and to grass.

The game will kick-off at 4.30 pm.
