The Golf Course at Raj Bhawan, Nainital, will be modernised and equipped with more amenities. The training method will be upgraded to produce excellent golf players.
All these initiatives are being taken by Governor KK Paul.
The Governor has also opened the Golf Course for schoolchildren and other golfers. Earlier, only ational- level golf tournaments were held here. In October, schoolchildren received training at the Golf Club and a tournament for schools was also held.
The Governor during a meeting held here today reviewed the Golf Course and sought suggestions from members of the Raj Bhawan Golf Club and veteran golfers on how facilities can be increased and the Golf Course made hi-tech.
Golf Club captain Harish Chandra Shah said the club was providing training to school students free of cost. With more facilities, more tournaments could be held.
Justice JCS Rawat, secretary to the Governor, Arun Dhaundiyal, secretary (Golf Club), Dr YS Rawat, Commissioner (Kumaon), AS Nayal, Sudhir Shah, AR Tandon, Gita Shah , GL Shah, PS Bora, Kamal Tripathi, Ved Shah, HL Shah and several golfers were present.
