Navneet wins long jump, Harpreet finishes second

Chandigarh, November 21

Navneet Singh of DAV College, Sector 10, claimed the top position in the men’s long jump event on the concluding day of the Chandigarh State Athletics Championship at the Sector 7 sports complex here today.

Navneet title winning jump was 6.69 metres. Harpreet Singh (6.59m) of SGGS College, Sector 26, and Deepak Jaiswal (6.49m) of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, finished second and third, respectively.

In the men’s 200m race, Sanampreet Singh of Coaching Centre, Sector 8, claimed the first place in 23.99 seconds. Balwinder Singh (24.33s) and Satinder Singh (25.05s) finished second and third, respectively.

In the men’s 800m race, Ajesh Kumar (2 minutes, 1.46 seconds), Parampreet Singh (2:09.50) and Akash (2:12.74) claimed the top three positions, respectively. In the men’s 10,000m race, Sarabjit Singh (35:42.80), Rahul Kumar (37:39.59) and Krishan Kumar (37:41.16) won the top honours.

In the women’s long jump event, Divyanshi (4.77m), Harpreet Kaur (4.25m) and Manpreet Kaur (4.00m) won the top three positions.

In the women’s 200m event, Rajbir Kaur (31.44s), Manpreet Kaur (33.02s) and Komal (33.33s) won the top three spots. In the 800m category, Vandana (2:53.98s), Anjali (3:16.71s), Maina Rani (3:20.89s) won the gold, silver and bronze, respectively.

In the women’s javelin throw event, Prabhdeep Kaur (39.60 metres), Neha (20.50m) and Prerna (17.90m) won the top positions. In high jump, Pooja Kumari (1.25m), Niketa (1.25m) and Neha (1.20m) won the top honours.

In the triple jump, Komal (8.50m), Radha (8.21m) and Vanisha (7.47m) won the first three positions.
