Ludhiana, March 4
Nitisha Jain, an MCom student, was declared the best athlete among girls while Prem of BCom II was adjudged the best athlete among boys during the annual athletics meet of Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College today.
Rajinder Bhandari, vice-chairman of the Punjab Planning Board, declared the meet open. The college principal, Dr Janmit Singh, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries.
Bhandari emphasised the importance of sports. Gurdeep Singh of MCom II took oath on the behalf of participants.
President of the college managing committee Ashok Jain, principal Dr Singh and president of the local unit of BJP Parveen Bansal, along with other managing committee members, distributed prizes.
