Powell House overall champ in Wynberg School athletics meet

Powell House was declared the overall champion in the 126th Wynberg-Allen Junior School Annual Inter-house Athletics Meet held here today.

Mansoor Hasan Khan, Deputy Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie and Rashida Khan were guests of honour.

The meet started on a bright note with Wynberg-Allen marching band playing the tunes ‘Mickey Mouse March’ and ‘It’s A Small World’. The band was directed by David Lal, conducted by Nadia Rawat, a Class 10 student with Timothy Greene the leader of the trumpet section.

The march past was led by two school captains Shreyank Baranwal and Chokyi Ratutsang. Allen House headed by Maroof Ansari and Sheroshi Majumdar, Condon House by Siddarth Gusain and Ashleen Ghelay, Foy House by Animesh Baranwal and Diya Giri and Powell House by Nathan Sakchiraphong and Duangruthai Sachdev were the marching leaders.

The chief guest, Rashida Khan, presented certificates and medals to the winners. Himanshi and Aditya Raj in the sub junior division, Nadia Mahathanapibal and Pragyat Anand in the junior divisions, Siddharth Gusain in the Intermediate divisions. Nadia Mahathanapibal and Pragyat Anand were declared the best girl and boy athletes in the meet. The march past cake was awarded to Condon House. Foy House was the champion in the tug-o-war. Powell House was declared the overall relay winner.

L Tindale, Principal, Wynberg-Allen School, congratulated all winners and thanked all officials especially Colvin, for successfully conducting the meet.
