Powerlifters receive warm welcome in Ludhiana

The team of the Punjab Para Power Lifting arrived here from Bangalore after winning the 15th Para Power Lifting Championship for the seventh time in a row.

The players and coaches were welcomed with garlands and sweets by the Bhai Laalo Sewa Society, an NGO. Gurnam Singh Kaler, Nirmal Singh, Tilak Raj and Manjeet Singh, office bearers of the society, were present.

Piara Singh, head coach, and Parminder Singh Fullanwal, manager of the team thanked the society members for their support.

Arjuna award winner Rajinder Singh Rahelu, who had accompanied the team, said the players had performed very well.

He said Paramjeet Sunny, Kuldeep Singh Faridkot, Parvinder Singh Fatehgarh Sahib, Parvinder Singh, Jatinder Singh Bathinda, Gurdeep Lal, Sahil, Balraj Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Ravi Kumar, Manraj Singh, Manpreet Kaur Phagwara, Rajdeep Kaur, Sumandeep Kaur, and Sonia had represented Punjab at the championship and all of them had achieved some positions. Manpreet Kaur was adjudged as the strongest woman of India during the championship,
