Panjab University boxers brought laurels to the city by bagging one gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the men’s category along with one silver and one bronze in the women’s category during the All-India Inter-University Boxing Championship for Men and Women held at Kurukshetra University from November 16 to 24.

In the men’s category, Deepak Singh bagged the gold medal in 52kg event, while Haramanpreet Singh bagged silver medal in 69kg event.

Shubham Singh, Sagar Jhanjtra and Mansoor Ahamd won bronze medals in the 75kg, 64kg and 49kg, respectively. In the women’s category, Anisha bagged a silver medal in 81kg, whereas Neetu clinched a bronze medal in the 48kg event.

Bhagwant Singh, Vishwajeet Singh and Varinder Dangi accompanied the team as officials.
