GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, bagged the Panjab University Inter-College Football Championship for Women (A-division) at Panjab University today. The team of SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur, attained the second spot while SGHRS College for Women, Chabbewal, ended their campaign at the third position. MCM DAV College for Women, Sector 36, stood fourth.
In the last league match of the championship, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, posted a convincing 5-0 win over SGHRS College for Women, Chabbewal. Starting their game on a positive note, Rajveer and Amandeep starred in their team’s win. Rajveer opened the team’s account in the second minute through an free kick while Amandeep doubled the lead in the 10th minute.
Both strikers struck again in the 22nd and 31st minute, respectively. After the lemon break, Beant Kaur added a goal, taking the score to 5-0. After scoring the fifth goal, GHG Khalsa College kept possession till the last.
In their last league match, SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur, beat MCM DAV College for Women, Sector 36, by a solitary goal. After a goalless first half, Rajwinder scored the lone winning goal.
