Special children from the Society for the Rehabilitation of the Mentally Challenged (SOREM), Sector 36, won 29 gold, 25 silver and 26 bronze medals to emerge the overall winners of the annual athletics meet for special children, organised by the Special Olympics (Chandigarh chapter) at the Sports Complex, Sector 7.

Bhavan Vidylaya School, Sector 27, bagged 20 gold, 24 silver and 25 bronze medals while children from Asha School, Chandimandir, won 16 gold, 10 silver and 21 bronze medals.

Sadhna Vocational Training Institute Manimajra won 13 gold, 13 silver and 10 bronze medals while the team of Astha Therapeutic Centre won four gold and three silver medals. Government Model School, Sector 8, clinched 4, 8 silver and 2 bronze medals while Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 38, claimed one gold, two silver and two bronze.
