Dehradun, September 13

Rishab Maheshwari, Roorkee, and Jyoti Singh, Dehradun, bagged the trophies in boys’ and girls’ category, respectively, of the 3rd State Deaf Chess Championship played here today. In the boys’ category, Manish Sharma (Dehradun) and Chetan Saini (Roorkee) bagged the second and the third places whereas Gulistan (Dehradun) and Abha (Roorkee) won the second and third places in girls’ category.

At the closing ceremony, Sports Minister Dinesh Agarwall gave away the awards to the winners. Selected players from both the categories will participate in the 11th National Deaf Chess Championship to be held in Karnataka on September 25.

Rajesh Kumar, Anil Jain, Praveen Kalra, Sachin Saini, Rajat Nautiyal and Pawan Bhatt were present at the occasion.
