Pithoragarh’s Rishabh Pant has made it to the U-19 Indian Cricket team, which will be playing a tri-nation series later this month against Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Currently representing Delhi's team in Ranji Trophy and selected for India Blues Challenger Trophy, Rishabh, owing to his batting and wicket keeping prowess, is being hailed as the next cricketing star by cricket aficionados.

Cricket Association of Haridwar general secretary Inder Mohan Barthwal expressed happiness over Rishabh's selection and hoped that soon he would make it to the national team.

In a statement issued today, Cricket Association of Haridwar president Neeraj Kumar, MP Sharma, Pradeep Sharma, Kamal Bahukhandi, Kuldeep Aswal, Sukhbeer Singh, Lalit Sachdeva, Kishore Arora, Kamal Chamoli, Devendra Sharma, Anil Khurana, Shalabh Goyal, Kamal Pant, Praveen Giri and Manoj Kumar have extended their wishes to Rishabh.

Meanwhile, selections for the U-14 district cricket team will be held tomorrow at Delhi Public School ground from 3 pm onwards.

Barthwal said all the players who wanted to enroll should arrive at the venue with their age certificates.
