Second seed Rishabh Sharda defeated Kavish Kathuriya in straight sets 6-4, 7-5, while third seed Calvin Golmei beat CLTA trainee MS Karthik in straight sets (6-1, 6-4) in the second round of the boys U-18 category of the CLTA-AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Tennis Stadium Complex, Sector 10.

In the other matches, Vatsal Chauhan defeated Vijayant Dalal 6-2, 7-5 and Shashikant Rajput defeated his practice partner Karan Bhalla in an easy match (6-2, 6-1). In the girls U-18 category, topseed Prinkle Singh of CLTA humbled Punyatoya Mohapatra 6-1, 6-0.

Krishan Hooda defeated Shrut Mohan Nargeta of CLTA in straight sets 7-6(7), 6-3 in the boys U-16 category. 

Bhupender Dahiya defeated Ayush Deshwal in a marathon match. Dahiya lost the first set (4-6) but came back to win the second set 7-6(5). Dahiya played intelligently by putting every ball in the opponent’s side and waited for Ayush to commit the mistake. 

In the third set, Dahiya played an attacking game and used his experience to win the match 6-4. 

Another CHART trainee Shashikant defeated Nitin Jaipal Singh in an easy match 6-2, 6-2. CLTA trainees Vatsal Chauhan and Yuvraj Kooka defeated their opponents Parveen Kumar and Vijayant Dalal 7-5, 7-6(5) and 6-1, 6-1, respectively. The quarterfinal matches will be played tomorrow (8:30am) at the CLTA Tennis Stadium Complex.
