SGGS-26 athletes steal the show

Chandigarh, November 30

Athletes of SGGS College, Sector 26, Chandigarh, secured 107 points to bag the overall trophy of the Panjab University Annual Athletics Meet today. DAV College, Sector 10, secured the second place with 95 points while GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, bagged the third position with 17 points. SCD Government College, Ludhiana, ended their campaign at the fourth spot with 11 points.

In the women’s category, Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, cliched the overall trophy with 53 points while Guru Nanak Girls’ College, Ludhiana, secured the second position with 35 points. JC DAV College, Dasuya, and GGS College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh secured the third and forth positions with securing 32 and 23 points, respectively.

In the men’s category, Husandeep Singh of DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, claimed the overall best athlete trophy with 1,069 points while Manpreet Kaur of Dasmesh College, Badal, was awarded the best athlete trophy in the women’s group with 940 points.

Javelin throw: Neeraj Chopra 76.66m ( new meet record); Jatinder Singh 67.33m; Amritpal Singh 63.99m.

Half marathon (women): Amandeep Kaur 1:28.03 sec; Surinder Kaur 1:37.23 sec; Davinder Kaur 1:41.41 sec.

100m hurdle: Preeti Dasmesh 16.62 sec; Rajni 16.64 sec; Pinderpal Kaur 22.10 sec.

4x400m relay: Parveen , Harpreet, Amandeep and Amanpreet 4:10.58 sec; Vipenjeet, Rajni, Shivdeep and Abhiti Sharma 4:12.71 sec; Yamini, Arpita, Surinder and Seema 4:26.57 sec.

Hammer throw: Anmol Kaur 49.22m; Sharanjeet Kaur 44.58m; Upneet Kaur 42.30; Navjot Kaur 28.09m.
