Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School beat Amity International School, Ghaziabad, 1-0 in a match during the 3rd All-India Girls Challenge Cup Football Tournament at Pavilion Ground here today. The first half remained goalless. Tenzin Yangzom of TCV scored the winning goal in the 42nd minute of the game.

In another match, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Sangathan defeated Unison World School 2-0. Nisha and Priyanka Tomar scored one goal each in the 24th and 42nd minutes, respectively.

Earlier, Ajay Bhatt, Leader of the Opposition, inaugurated the match and wished good luck to the teams. KD Singh, Sumant Rawat, Vyankat Pundir and VS Rawat were present during the match.

Doon School beat Mayor School 42-12 in basketball

The Doon School (A) team thrashed Mayoor School, Ajmer, by 42-12 in the opening match of the 25th Afzal Khan Memorial All-India Basketball Tournament played at The Doon School in Dehradun Wednesday.

The Doon School dominated the game from the beginning and maintained their lead till the end. Nachiket Jain scored the highest 17 points for his team and helped the school register a comfortable victory.

In the other matches of the tournament, Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) beat Scindia School, Gwalior, by 32-22. Lawrence School, Sanawar beat The Doon School (B) team by 63-35. Pine Grove School, Solan, beat Doon International School in a close match by 38-37. Welham Boys School beat Punjab Public School, Nabha, by 51-33.

Manav Bharti School lift throwball trophy

Manav Bharti International School defeated Mussoorie Public School in the final of the senior division of the Inter-School Girls Throwball Competition in Mussoorie on Wednesday. In the junior division, Mussoorie International School defeated Manav Bharti School in the final match to lift the trophy.

In the senior division, Manav Bharti International School defeated Mussoorie Public School 15-12,15-8. In the junior division, Mussoorie International School defeated Manav Bharti International School girls 15-9, 15-11 to lift the trophy.

Secretary of the association Amit Negi, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away prizes to the winners. He also gave tips to the participants and motivated them to take up throwball as sport at the national level so that they could bring laurels to their schools and families.

Director of Manav Bharti International School Shanti Sharma thanked the participants and the school staff for their contribution to promoting the sport.

Earlier Mussoorie Public school defeated Mussoorie International School 15-12, 15-11 in the first semifinal while Manav Bharti International School defeated Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School 15-6,15-2 in the second semifinal in the senior division. In the junior division semifinals, Manav Bharti International School defeated Hill Bird School 15-11, 15-3 while Mussoorie International School defeated St. Claire’s 15-4, 15-2.
