Hosts Tribune Model School, Sector 29, drubbed Infant Jesus Convent School, Mohali, 7-0 in the opening match of the inaugural Tribune Trust Football Tournament at the school grounds, here today.
Harsh Yadav scored four goals for the hosts, while Kunal added two to the winning tally.
Harshit struck once to make the score line 7-0 in favour of the hosts.
Eight schools from across the tri-city are participating in the championship, organised to mark the National Sports Day celebrations.
In other matches of the day, Ajit Karam Singh International Public School, Sector 45, humbled Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 45, 6-0, while Kundan International School, Sector 46, blanked Oakridge School, Mohali, 3-0.
Yadvindra Public School, Mohali, registered a 5-2 win over New Public School, Sector 18.
