Welham Boys’ School emerge overall champion in swimming event

Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun, emerged overall champion in the Sixth PA Kidd Invitational Inter-School Swimming Competition-2016 here today. The two-day meet was hosted by Wynberg Allen School in the name of PA Kidd, a renowned teacher and former principal of the school.

Six schools namely The Asian School, RIMC, Welham Boys’ School, Kasiga School, The Doon School and the host Wynberg Allen School participated in the competition.

Leon Tindale, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Vikrant Bhatti, Garvit Marwaha, Theerath, Mihir and Akarsh, all from Wynberg Allen School, won medals in a number of events.

Theerth Playporn of Wynberg Allen School was adjudged individual champion in the sub-junior division while Abdul Ahmed and Moksh Kandpal of Welham Boys’ School and Shrey Bakshi of Kasiga School shared award in the junior division.

Leon Tindale of Wynberg Allen School won the championship in the intermediate division. Mustafa Abid of Welham Boys’ School was declared individual champion in the senior division.

Welham Boys’ School was declared the overall champion with a total score of 116 points followed by Wynberg Allen School with 115 points. The Asian School were adjudged second runner-up in the competition.

Headmaster P Radcliffe gave away the medals and trophies to the winners. Principal L Tindale congratulated the winners and thanked principals of the various schools for their participation.
