Welham Girls’ School (blue) thrashed Unison World School 8-0 in the opening match of the 5th Invitational Girls Hockey Tournament played here today.
Unison World School was unable to match the skillful game of Prerna, who scored a brilliant hat-trick of goals in the 26th, 40th and 49th minutes, while Shruti scored two goals and Sankriti, Aishani and Ishrat scored one goal each for Welham Girls’ School.
In other matches, Welham Girls’ School (white) beat MKP 6-0, while St. Agne’s School defeated Moravian School 5-0.
Wynberg Allen beat GNFC School Mussoorie 6-1
Wynberg Allen School defeated Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary (GNFC) School, Mussoorie, in the inaugural match of the 3rd David Inglis Memorial Hockey Tournament that began at Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie on Monday.
The host school defeated Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School 6-1. Sheriff Singh of Wynberg Allen School scored 3 goals while Nikhil Vishvakarma, Kevin Christy and Deo Anand scored one goal each. From the GNFC side, Daman Pratap Singh scored the solitary goal.
In the first match today, RIMC, Dehradun defeated Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun 2-0. Kapil scored the first goal for RIMC while Prem scored the second one. The second match was played between St. George’s College and GNFC School, Mussoorie. In a one-sided match St. George’s College defeated GNFC School, Mussoorie 9-0. Rahul Aggarwal of St. George’s College scored 3 goals while two goals were scored by Faisal Ahmed. The final match of the tournament will be played on May 9 at the Allen flat. Eight schools from Mussoorie and Dehradun are taking part in the tournament.
Tennis coaching camp at Unison World Scholl
A tennis coaching camp for students in collaboration of Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy (MBTA) began at Unison World School in Dehradun on Tuesday. In the week-long coaching camp, students of the school will get training from MBTA coaches, namely Sharad Kumar, Narendra Kumar, Yogesh Kumar and Sonu Kumar.
