Wynberg Allen School lift swimming trophy

Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, lifted the 6th Mrs West Memorial Inter-School Invitational Girls Swimming trophy 2015 in a competition held at Wynberg Allen school aquatic centre here yesterday.

The two-day meet was hosted by Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, in the memory of Mrs West, an educationist, the first principal of the school from 1888 to 1895.

The Asian School, Ecole Globale School and Kasiga School from Dehradun and The Lawrence School, Sanawar, participated in the competition here.

Simrina Loona was declared winner in the sub-junior division, Pavit Sidhu in the junior girls division while Saranya Loona was declared winner in the intermediate girls division. All three of them were from Lawrence School, Sanawar. In the senior girls division, Shania O’Connor of Wynberg Allen School was declared the champion.

Wynberg Allen School won the overall championship by a narrow margin. Lawrence School, Sanawar, was declared the first runners up on the occasion.

Headmaster Senior School P Radcliffe gave away the certificates and medals to the winners. Principal L Tindale congratulated all winners and thanked the school for their participation. He also thanked swimming coach Samandar Singh and Suman Singh for successfully organising the meet.
