YPS win inter-school basketball meet

Chandigarh, May 6

The basketball team of Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Mohali, won the inter-school basketball championship for girls (U-15), organised by Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, here today.

In the final match of the championship, eves of Yadavindra Public School defeated the host Strawberry Fields High School by a close margin of 36-24.

The team of St Soldier’s School, Panchkula, bagged the third spot in the championship. The championship was conducted on knock-out basis format, with a total of ten teams, including host Strawberry Fields High School, St Kabir Public School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, St Soldier’s School, Panchkula, Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, Shishu Niketan Public School, Mohali, Holy Child School, Morni Hills, Panchkula, Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, Tribune Model School, Sector 29, Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38 and Carmel Convent School, Sector 26, participated in the event.

Navya Chawla of Strawberry Fields High School bagged the trophy for being the highest scorer of the tournament.
