The world is witnessing an all together different side of ace filmmaker Karan Johar, courtesy his biography An Unsuitable Boy. In-conversation with author Shobha De at the recently held book launch, the 44-year-old shed light on his nurturing quality, while expressing his desire to become a parent.

Karan revealed he realised this quality when he launched Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan in Student of the Year. “I feel I have that nurturing quality in me and I saw that most when I launched Alia, Varun and Sid. I can’t let them go off even now. It has been nearly five years but I see myself staring at what they’re doing, what they’re saying. Even for all those at Dharma. The emotion comes from a very strong paternal space,” he said.

“I would like to be a parent. I don’t know in what capacity, I don’t know how it’s going to happen. I don’t have answers to those questions. But I do feel the need because I feel I have love to offer,” KJo added.

Talking about Karan at the event, SRK said, “Karan’s an extremely beautiful person. Why An Unsuitable Boy? His biography could have been The Good Boy and his parents would vouch for that.” The 51-year-old also suggested the book could have been called The Intelligent Boy, as Karan’s has the gift of knowing people inside out.

“When I am saying intelligent, I meant the ability to understand human emotions, people and their situation. I think that is a gift he has from God. He is an extremely gifted sensitive person. And I must mention that he is a brave boy, he is the most special human being I have come across,” he added.

“It is very tough to keep up with me so I can say he is one of the best conversationalists. His book could even have been A Sensitive Boy,” said the Badshaah of Bollywood.

“It could have been called The Brave Boy,” Shah Rukh further added. “He will remain the most beautiful boy I have ever seen in my life. After 25 years of work, and at 51 years of age, I feel I have truly arrived because there is a full chapter dedicated to me in his book.”

Together forever

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar recently poured out his heart while talking about his ‘deep love’ for the Badshaah of Bollywood saying that their relationship will be forever.

Speaking at the launch, KJo said, “There are ups and downs with various relationships but with SRK, there is deep love. There is no other way of communicating the respect and love I have for him. Ours will be a relationship that will be forever because my love for him and his family has only grown in the past two decades. I think we were just meant to meet in this world,” he added.

Reflecting upon his spat with the 51-year-old when he ‘made a film without him’, the Koffee With Karan host said, “We could have our down days but we can never forget the unabashed love and respect we have for each other which has not diminished, no matter what.”

KJo also gave details of his first meeting with King Khan as he said, “It is because of my father, late Yash Johar that we have this connect. I met SRK when he took me to sign him for Duplicate. I had never met somebody who was a young movie star, so loved at that time but was so conversational and real. The fact that he respected my father so much, meant the world to me. I fell in love with him.” — ANI
