Dishoom offends the Sikh community
In the recently released trailer of the movie Dishoom, Jacqueline Fernandez is seen wearing a short dress with a Kirpan around her waist, which is dangling in an inappropriate manner.
Objections have been raised for the way the Kirpan has been portrayed. Kirpan being one of the five articles of faith that Sikhs wear.
The Gurdwara Management Committee’s General Secretary, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, has written a letter to Pahlaj Nihalani asking him to ask the film’s director Rohit Dhawan to delete the video . The community says either delete the song from the movie or re-shoot its video without using Kirpan. Public apology has been sought from the director.
