Tanu Weds Manu Returns: Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns made a really good start not only at the Indian box office but overseas as well. At the on-going Melbourne Film Festival, not only was the film screened but Kangana was offered an award for the best actress.
A hit at the festivals
Lunch Box: This Irrfan Khan starrer, put Indian cinema on global platform. After doing very well in India, the film did extremely well worldwide. Lunch Box was even screened as a part of the Critics’ Week at Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival. It also won the Viewers’ Choice Award at Cannes.
Setting some records
Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Bajrangi Bhaijaan not only became the second highest grossing film in India, it also grossed more than Rs 606 crore from worldwide box office. The film became so popular that it recently received an invite for the prestigious Busan International Film Festival.
Win some, lose some
Udaan: Though it didn’t quite set the cash registers ringing at box office, it was applauded world over and won awards at many film festivals including Cannes and Giffioni Film Festival in Italy.

Masaan: Screened in the Un Certain Regard at Cannes this year, Masaan went on to win two awards at the film festival- FIPRESCI Prize and Promising Future Award. Isn’t that great?
