As reported earlier, Deepika Padukone will perform the traditional Ghoomar dance in the upcoming movie Padmavati for which preps are on in full swing.
Now, we hear that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recreated the inside of the Chittorgarh fort on the set for the royal song. The entire set for the song took approximately 40 days to erect, with over a hundred people involved in the setup. The recreated set has been inspired by actual references of parts inside the fort.
Rajasthani paintings have been used as part of the wall design and 400 diyas have been used to light the set up. If that wasn’t all, the lighting team took over two days to light the set up. The awe-inspiring set up will be graced by chari dancers (authentic fire dancers) from Kishangadh and Terahtaali musicians from Jaipur to create the true folk flavour for the song. Reportedly, Deepika took over a month and a half to learn this dance form that has been long associated with royalty. Says a source, “It will be a complete royal folk experience and the final look is awe inspiring.”
