Cate Blanchett has adopted a baby girl, Edith Vivian Patricia Upton, with her husband Andrew Upton. The Australian Oscar-winning actress, 45, who already has 3 sons Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10 and Ignatius, 6, was spotted with the infant as she was being chaperoned onto the flight by attentive Qantas staff, a publication reported.

The Blue Jasmine star, who was in US for the premiere of her film Cinderella, introduced her daughter to fellow Aussie actor Russell Crowe and American comedian Chris Rock. Upton confirmed the baby’s name and said that they were really thrilled and happy.

Friend and Adopt Change founder and board member, Deborra-Lee Furness was one of the first to congratulate the actor, wishing them good luck and much love for their new life together.
