Rare feat by Yashoda Hospital docs
A rare 'heart-lung transplantation' was conducted successfully at a hospital of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, Hyderabad. The transplantation was carried out on a 13-year-old girl by a team of doctors led by Dr PV Naresh Kumar, senior cardiothoracic & transplant surgeon, at Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad. The surgeon said Nitisha of Nizamabad district was suffering from Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, a rare lung disease, and after evaluation a heart-lung transplant was recommended. He said a 27-year-old brain dead woman patient's organs were retrieved and the combined transplant was carried out. The donor had died of intracranial fluid bleeding. The Telangana Government paid Rs 25 lakh for the treatment along with a donation of Rs 25 lakh from the Yashoda Hospitals.

Vidyapeeth students shine in NEET
Students from the Vidyapeeth Shimla have shown excellent performance in NEET-2017.This year, 55 students from Vidyapeeth have proved their mettle in the medical entrance exam and 14 of them have scored above 500 marks. Last year, 49 students had qualified the test. Directors of Vidyapeeth Er Ravinder Awasthi and Dr Ramesh Sharma had congratulated the students and their parents for the success of the children.
DAV students create skating record
Twelve students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar, have created a record for skating continuously for 24 hours. Their feat was flagged off by Principal of the school, Dr Neera Sharma. Dr Rajesh Kumar, Principal, DAV College, Amritsar, was chief guest on the concluding day. While skating for 24 hours, these students took a break of 40 minutes after every 4-½ hours and completed the feat successfully.
