A local court today sentenced a habitual thief to two years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on him.

According to the prosecution, the case was registered on April 28 this year following the complaint of a resident of Sector 45 that his Maruti car was stolen from a parking area in Burail.

The police had then arrested Ajay, alias Bheem, for the crime.

Later, the accused was found to be a habitual thief as he had more than half a dozen theft cases registered against him.
