Thieves strike at locked house in P’kula

Panchkula, June 9

Thieves decamped with Rs 60,000 and gold and silver jewellery from a locked house in the Mansa Devi Complex (MDC), Sector 4, here.

Manoj Kumar, a native of Dadri village in Jhajjar district, who is presently staying at the MDC, Sector 4, in his complaint to the police stated that he, along with his family, had gone to his in-laws’ house in Gorakhpur on May 30. When they returned to their house in MDC after 9 days, they found the locks of the main gate broken and goods in the house scattered all over the place.

He said the miscreants took away Rs 60,000 from an almirah, a gold chain weighing 10 grams, a pair of silver anklet and 19 taps from the washrooms of the house. The thieves escaped after breaking the window on the rear side of the house.

The Mansa Devi police have registered a case against unidentified persons under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. Further investigations are on in the case.
