India''s Grand Old Man.

AN Associated Press telegram brings the saddening news that Mr. Dadabhai Naoroji has had another turn for the worse and the doctors hold out no hope of an early recovery. Mr. Dadabhai has been blessed with a slender frame, which throughout a long and active life has had to respond to the demands of an ever active brain and an ever-burning flame of patriotism. Throughout his long span of life the great patriot leader has never spared himself in connection with any of the numerous departments of national life and activity and even when old in years, the Nestor of Indian politics has stood out as a beacon light to his countrymen, and as a shining example of patriotism, philanthropy and rectitude of conduct. The report that he is lying in a critical condition will be received with solemnity all over the country.
