Lahore Conspiracy Case
THE special tribunal presided over by Mr. C.A. Barron, C.I.E., I.C.S., Mr. S. Wilberforce, I.C.S., and Rai Bahadur Sham Das pronounced orders on Monday in the case in which Lal Chand Falak and four others were under tail under an alleged charge of conspiracy. The Commissioners considered that all members of the conspiracy were guilty of offences punishable under s.121 A. Indian Penal Code (waging war against the King). The Commissioners observed:-" It is true that no overt act towards the waging of war had been committed and no definite arrangements had been made towards such act. We are convinced, however, that the members of the conspiracy had not merely a vague intention of waging war against the Government, but agreed to increase their numbers and to collect arms these being measures which would enable them at a suitable moment to wage war against the Government, either unsupported or in instance of the Germans."
