IN the course of an open letter, addressed to the Secretary of State for India, Lala Lajput Rai says:-"What we want is real political power. We are prepared to pay a reasonable price for our connection with the Empire, but the present position must change. As soon as we get fiscal autonomy we shall set ourselves to the great task of securing such a just distribution of whatever wealth we earn as will secure decent lives to the masses of our people. After all, it is they who form the nation." In this matter, at any rate there is no difference of opinion among thoughtful and patriotic Indians.
