This  is the subject of a brilliant article in the pages of the current Fortnightly Review from the pen of that tried friend of India, Mr. H.M. Hyndman. Although it is largely a review of the wonderful progress which Asia has made in recent years, yet towards the close of the article Mr. Hyndman is irresistibly drawn towards India for the advancement of which he, in company with our G.O.M., has fought many times before against the subordination of our national self-development to the protection of what are called “vested interests.” In the present article, after calling attention to the remarkably rapid changes that have been coming over the Asiatic race, this true exponent of British democratic opinion expresses himself once more in emphatic terms as regards our own destiny in the scheme of British Empire. We are sure England is not going to keep us in subjugation for all time; even now in the midst of war signs are visible that she is rapidly preparing India to be the mistress of her own house.
