Every Province in India has a community of people who have specialised themselves in trade and industries — except Bengal and that is the reason why young Bengalees who have returned from England after learning some manufactory have not succeeded in obtaining the necessary local co-operation. So says a critic who postulates that when the sons of the big Bania families once begin to go to Europe for technical education, we shall see the real first step of an India awakened to the possibilities of indigenous industries.
