WE congratulate the proprietors of the Hindu on the issue of an excellent annual supplement containing numerous special articles on subjects of current interest to Indians. This is a feature which was introduced by the Times (London) and was greatly appreciated by its readers. But so far as we are aware, no newspaper conducted by Indians has made this a regular feature of value and interest, not merely one of art and amusement. The attempt made by our Madras contemporary promises to introduce a new and welcome departure in Indian journalism which cannot fail to benefit the public. The lead taken by the Hindu in this respect is also worthy of its high traditions and will be widely appreciated throughout the country.
