At 25 years of age, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg Aka Pewdiepie of Sweden has amassed the most number of subscribers, along with the most money. Pewdiepie uploads videos of him playing Video Games with his face in one corner of the screen, showcasing his reactions to the various moments in the game and commentating throughout, a genuinely funny experience is how one would describe pewdiepie. Net worth: $8.47 million

This is going to shock a few of you if you’re not a YouTube scavenger. The idea is to listen to the YouTuber’s calming voice while he opens a bunch of toys. Surprised? Well, apparently it helps toddlers and the young ones to be put to sleep and hey, it’s cheaper than getting them actual real toys. With more than 4,198,021,368 views, this is one mammoth YouTube channel. Net worth: $6.38 million

Smosh

Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla combined to form Smosh in 2002 and started to post YouTube videos in 2005, uploading funny skits that have gone to define them as a comedy channel. Worth more than $4.5 million, they’ve even had Lions Gate produce a movie that came out earlier. They even have applications about their skit such as Foodwars available on the PlayStore (Android) and the App store (IOS). Net worth: $4.5million.

Punjabi-Canadian YouTubers have specifically gathered attention of our region. Although they haven’t been earmarked as super-rich but they’ve certainly created waves online and rose to prominence garnering attention. It brings one pride to see people outside still connected to their roots. Here are a couple of the most famous ones.

JusReign

Jasmeet Singh first posted a video about his room but has since then gone on to become a comic relief for Punjabis in India and outside alike. Videos like ‘The Swag Song’ have gone on to become internet sensations and the former DJ name of Jasmeet, ‘JusReign’ has gone on to become a YouTube success story.

Amandeep Kang is despised and loved by people at the same time. Especially famous for his ‘Living in a brown fam’ series, the YouTuber rose to prominence among Indo-Canadians with his extremely funny re-enactment of Daily life events in Indo-Canadian families. AK has since gone on to be a reasonably popular YouTuber but with a reputation of uploading videos at his will and mostly keeping people anxious and waiting for another.

From a video-blogging website to a portal of information and entertainment at once, YouTube has grown leaps and bounds and with it the Uploaders. The entertainment industry has shifted its focus to YouTube as one of its major players and with it has come an inflow of advertising which has only multiplied as YouTube grows under the genius of Susan Wojcicki, who has been credited with YouTube’s recent success and growth.

Lilly Singh Aka ||Superwoman|| is a 26-year-old Ontario native who is a comic along with being a motivational speaker. She uploads videos every Monday and Thursday, famous for her takes on everyday life and rants about random things. Lilly Singh has amassed more than 730 million views on YouTube.
