Tricity-based Royale Estate Affordable Housing group is offering as many as 187 plots in its new project located on the Zirakpur-Patiala highway in Greater Mohali area. Announcing the scheme in Chandigarh earlier this week, the group spokesperson Neeraj Kansal claimed that this will be Punjab’s first affordable housing scheme as the project is the first one to get clearance under the “amended” Punjab Affordable Housing policy. “Earlier the affordable housing policy of the state lacked clarity on certain key issues and after representations from the industry our project is the first one to get approvals”, he said.
Coming in the price band of Rs 16,450 per sq yd, freehold residential plots ranging from 80 to 120 sq yd are on offer in this scheme. The EDC and registration charges for these have been waived off in order to make the price within the reach of buyers looking for affordable property, said the group spokesperson. Interested buyers can apply till September 11 and the draw of lots will be held on September 22.
The 17-acre project is SBI-approved and will have ample open spaces and modern amenities. According to company spokesperson the development work on the site was likely to be completed within the next four months. — TNS
