Online shopping craze seems to have taken the realty sector too by a storm this year considering the number of developers who  jumped on the ongoing Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) bandwagon. GOSF, India’s biggest online shopping festival by Google was scheduled from  December 10 to 12, 2014. Several major developers like Tata Vaue Homes, Brigade Group, Purvankara, Ashiana group and realty portals like 99 acres.com are using this platform to reach out to prospective customers by putting on offer new and existing projects and attractive schemes to lure clients.

GOSF showcased Ashiana Housing’s upcoming and on going residential and senior living projects spread over in the cities of Jaipur, Bhiwadi (NCR), Sohna (NCR), Jodhpur, Halol (Vadodara), Jamshedpur & Lavasa . Some of the landmark projects being showcased included Ashiana Town - Bhiwadi; Ashiana Anantara-Jamshedpur; Ashiana Navrang –Halol(Vadodara); Gulmohar Gardens, Vrinda Gardens and Ashiana Umang in Jaipur besides, Active Senior Living projects Ashiana Nirmay in Bhiwadi, and Ashiana Utsav in Lavasa. Ashiana Utsav Care Homes (Assisted Living) for seniors is the another attraction for the NRIs. besides, showcasing the entire gamut of projects an attractive discount were offered on the online bookings done during GOSF. 

Earlier in the week the Brigade Group announced the launch of its online booking platform to coincide with the GOSF to enable customers to book a Brigade apartment online in a few easy steps. The customers will not only have the convenience of booking homes online, but can also avail of fabulous offers on some of Brigade’s 9 projects in Bangalore in a price range of Rs36 lakh to Rs3.5 crore by paying a  booking fee of just Rs25,000. Customers who booked apartments online in the three days were offered savings of upto Rs6 lakh and complementary gold vouchers with every booking.

Tata Value Homes, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Housing and pioneers of online home booking in India too partnered with Google to present exclusive lifestyle apartments in Boisar, near Mumbai. These apartments starting at Rs16 lakh were exclusively available during GOSF for a booking fee of Rs20,000 online. The company also offered a special one-day price for homes across Ahmedabad, Pune, Chennai and Bengaluru starting Rs32 lakh. 

99acres.com, India’s premier real estate portal also partnered with Google for GOSF and offered over 300 exciting deals to prospective home buyers. These deals will be given by more than 200 premier property builders from 20 cities.

Purvankara group claimed to have booked over 125 homes in the first 12 hours only in response to very lucrative offers from both the Puravankara and Provident Brands.  Puravankara and Provident (a 100% subsidiary of Puravankara Group, into Premium Affordable Homes) offered significant incentives to consumers to choose from over a dozen of ready to move in projects in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore & Kochi. “What started off as a 'Lead Generation' platform for Real Estate has now garnered enough consumer confidence to become a 'Transaction Fulfillment' channel, giving consumers the ability to not just ‘Know More' about the home that they want to buy, but to actually go ahead, and "Purchase" their dream home online. The fact that such customers acquired through ecommerce channels reduces the cost of acquisition, helps Real Estate Developers to pass on those savings as significant benefits to the customers, thereby making it a very attractive proposition”, said Ashish Puravankara, Joint Managing Director, Puravankara Projects Limited. “The online space has been very vibrant in Real Estate, for the last several years online advertising has been taking prominence in our marketing budgets and they now contribute to almost 70% of our enquiries”, he added.
