Trout angling championship concludes

Manali, April 16

A three-day catch and release trout angling championship organised by the Trout Conservation and Angling Association, Kullu, and the Himachal Angling Association, concluded at Patlikuhal in Kullu today. Navneet Sharma bagged the first position, while Rajinder Kumar came second and Vickey of Tirthan valley came third.

Chief guest of the event Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Fishery Department, Arvind Mehta awarded the winners by giving mementos and cash prize. Around 35 anglers from different parts of the country took part in the event. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
