The Mullanpur Garibdass police have arrested two on the charge of illegal mining and seized a tractor-trailer loaded with sand and one JCB machine here on Tuesday.
Station House Officer Bhagwant Singh said that the police received a tip-off that illegal mining was being undertaken in Salamtpur village. The police arrested two suspects — Harpreet Singh and Daljit Singh. A JCB machine and a tractor-trailer loaded with sand were recovered from the spot.
A case was registered. The accused were produced in a court, which remanded them in judicial custody. — OC
