Two-year-old girl found abandoned in Karnal
Karnal, July 5
A two-year-old girl was found abandoned in a cradle at MDD Bal Bhawan, an orphanage on the outskirt of the city at Phoosgarh, on Thursday morning.
She is the eight child found abandoned in the cradle in three-and-a-half years. Five girls and two boys had been found in the cradle earlier.
An initiative of the Department of Women and Child Development, the orphanage was started on November 14, 2014, to secure newborn babies from getting abandoned.
The girl was later taken to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital for medical examination, said Parminder Pal Singh, president, Bal Bhawan. — TNS
