Agenda for budget session approved

Dehradun, March 13

The business advisory committee, which met here today, approved the agenda for the budget session scheduled to be held at Bhararisain (Gairsain) from March 20 . The session will begin with the Governor’s Address and an obituary in memory of  BJP MLA Magan Lal Shah. 

“We hope to have a full and  meaningful discussion on all issues that will be raised by MLAs,” said Prem Chand Aggarwal, Speaker  of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. The Budget will be tabled on March 21. 

For the first time, the session will also be held on Saturday (March 24), during which the  members would discuss sustainable development goals as outlined by the United Nations Organisation.

 “During a conference of   the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association held in Dhaka last year, it was decided that the state legislatures of member  countries  will devote some time to achieving sustainable development goals,” said Jagdish Chandar, Secretary, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
