The state Department of Tourism is marking the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ visit to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram in Rishikesh in 1968. The Beatles tribute band comprised Joseph Edward, Daniel Philips, John Thomson and Niles. It sang all chartbuster songs of The Beatles.

The state government has also decided to construct a museum at Choras Kutiya in Rishikesh.  Tourism Minister Satpal  Maharaj said efforts would be made to hold such festivals on a regular basis.
