BJP appoints district unit president

The Uttarakhand BJP has nominated chiefs of it’s newly revamped 12 district units. Barring few, the party has reposed faith in past chiefs to head the units.

Shamsher Singh Pundir has been nominated as president of Dehradun district unit, Virender Valdiya of district unit in Pithoragarh, Sanjay Singh Negi in Tehri, Shyam Dhobal in Uttarkashi, Shiv Arora in Udham Singh Nagar, Ram Datt Joshi in Champawat, Govind Pilakhwal in Almora, Sher Singh Gadiya in Bageshwar, Mohan Prakash Thapliyal in Chamoli, Vijay Kaparwan in Rudraprayag, Pradip Singh Bisht in Nainital and Sahilender Singh Bisht will head the district unit in Pauri. Dehradun district alone will have a city unit and Vinay Goyal has been nominated its president. 

The party has repeated presidents in Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Bageshwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Almora. However, the party has not nominated president for its Haridwar unit. As many as three BJP leaders are vying for the post of president for their supporters.
