Dehradun, June 21
A class XII student, Shallu, was found brutally murdered in her house at Palm City in Patel Nagar here today.
The incident came to light when the girl’s parents found her body lying in a pool of blood in the balcony of their house this morning. They informed the police about the incident. Acting swiftly, a police team led by SSP Pushpak Jyoti and the Patel Nagar police station in charge immediately reached the victim’s house.
It seemed prima facie a cold-blooded murder as the girl was attacked on her head with some sharp-edged weapon several times.
Police sources said they suspected four persons entered the house and murdered her brutally. They suspect it to be a case of a one-side love affair. Laxmi, mother of the deceased, has registered a police complaint accusing Ravi Rajput, a resident of Haryana, as the man behind their daughter’s murder.
Meanwhile, panic gripped Patel Nagar and its adjoining localities after the news about the girl’s murder spread. The SSP told The Tribune several teams comprising senior and experienced police officials had been formed to solve the case. He said police teams had been sent to Haryana and other neighbouring states to trace the accused.
