Encroachment in Sukhtal area

The Nainital High Court has ordered removal of encroachment and illegal constructions from the Sukhtal area, the catchment area of the Naini lake. “Acting on a PIL, the court ordered the district administration to remove encroachment from the Barapatthar road. Litter spread by horsemen enter the lake city during the monsoon,” said Ajay Rawat, the petitioner.

Bagwal fair
The famous Bagwal fair at the Devishura temple in Champawat district will be held in the first week of September. “The fair, which was usually held on August 15 every year, will be organised in the first week of September due to Adhimas,” said Khushal Singh Adhikari, Zila Panchayat chairperson, Champawat.
Pithoragarh
3 constables suspended
SP Roshan Lal on Saturday suspended three policemen found in an inebriated condition during duty hours. He said during a surprise visit at Kotwali on Friday night he found constables Pradeep Phartiyal, Prem Pal and Suneel Kumar under the influence of liquor. The medical examination confirmed they were drunk.
