Dehradun, June 6
The heli shuttle service to Govind Ghat-Ghangaria has been stopped after the contract of the Deccan Aviation came to an end on Tuesday, inconveniencing pilgrims bound for Hemkund Sahib.
The Deccan Aviation Company was operating heli shuttle service between Govind Ghat and Ghangaria, from where Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers can be reached since the yatra began, but the operations were stopped abruptly on Tuesday.
As the pilgrims had no information about the end of the contract between the government and the company most of them awaited for the helicopters to take them to their destinations on Tuesday.
The officials in the Aviation Department said the government was in the process of inviting new tenders so that the service could be resumed at the earliest. But for now, there is uncertainty regarding their resumption. —TNS
