As part of measures to check spread of swine flu, the district authorities in Dehradun have announced holidays for classes LKG to V in all government and private schools in Dehradun from February 25 to February 28.

This was announced at a meeting of the district authorities held today which was presided over by District Magistrate Ravinath Raman. Raman called for strict implementation of the order.

District Surveillance Officer Dr Madan Bonal said so far, samples of 87 viral fever patients had been taken at Doon Hospital. He said 12 of the patients had tested positive for swine flu.

The DM asked the district health authorities to provide necessary treatment to patients visiting hospitals in the district. He called for raising of proper awareness about swine flu among the masses.

Chief Education Officer SP Khali was also present at the meeting.
