Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal celebrated Raksha Bandhan in Haridwar today with his sister Dr Ranjana Gupta. Relishing his favourite dish, ‘chole chawal’, at his sister’s place, he said due to hectic schedule, he couldn’t find time to meet his sister’s family in Haridwar. However, he didn’t want to miss the opportunity of visiting her on Rakhi.

Dr Ranjana told The Tribune that she had got the best gift from her brother today he himself came to get the rakhi tied. “It was nothing short of a surprise for me when he informed me about his visit to our place on Raksha Bandhan a few days ago. My happiness knew no bounds. My daughter Anjali was so excited to spend time with her maternal uncle,” she added. — TNS

Rousing welcome at railway station 

The Delhi Chief Minister was given a rousing reception on his arrival at the Haridwar railway station at 11.30 am. Additional District Magistrate Jeevan Singh Nangiyal, SP (city) Surjeet Singh Pawar, circle officer Chandra Mohan, chief town officer Vipra Trivedi and AAP activists were present there to receive him

Preferred to travel in brother-in-law’s car 

Kejriwal opted to travel in his brother-in-law Dr Ajay Gupta’s car. He spent four hours at his sister’s Shivalik Nagar residence. He left for Delhi in the evening.
