Dehradun, February 26
A state committee on security has found lapses in security being provided to Uttarakhand Chief Minister TS Rawat at his residence in the Cantonment area.
During an inspection conducted in the first week of February, 15 of the 30 CCTV cameras installed at the CM’s residence were found non-functional. As many as 22 shortcomings were highlighted by the committee.
“We have asked the departments concerned to coordinate with each other, so that there are no lapses in the CM’s security at his residence and even when he is travelling to different places,” Anand Vardhan, Principal Secretary, Department of Home.
He said the security personnel of the Chief Minister had been asked to inform two days in advance about his tours to ensure coordination and better management.
The Department of Home will procure new security-related equipment to be installed at the Chief Minister’s residence.
